Florida is a member of the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (NC-SARA) and AdventHealth University is an approved SARA institution. SARA allows institutions to offer distance education courses and programs to other SARA participating institutions and ensures adherence to national standards for postsecondary distance education. We work through the SARA process and with states to ensure that when authorization or licensure of online programs is necessary, required approvals are secured. Professional Licensure Considerations

Several degree programs at AdventHealth University (AHU) are designed to meet the licensure and/or certification requirements in the state of Florida and to prepare students to sit for corresponding Florida licensure examinations. While AHU programs are developed to align with national certification standards, requirements for professional licensure vary by state and may change over time. Students who intend to seek licensure or certification outside of Florida should review the specific requirements for the state in which they plan to practice.

Professional licensure and certification requirements are subject to ongoing revision by state regulatory agencies. In compliance with federal regulations, AHU has made a good faith effort to determine whether each program’s curriculum meets the educational requirements for licensure in all U.S. states. Students are strongly encouraged to consult the appropriate licensing board or regulatory agency in their desired state of practice for the most up to date information. Students may also contact their academic program for additional guidance regarding licensure or certification requirements.

Some professions and states may require background checks or assessments of character and fitness as part of their licensure or certification process, which could disqualify individuals with certain accusations or convictions. Students with concerns should contact the applicable state licensing board for specific details.

The following programs have reviewed state licensure and certification requirements and have determined, to the best of their knowledge, whether the current curriculum meets the educational components required for credentialing in each state.

There are 10 licensure states. The program meets licensure requirements in FL, HI, ND, TN, LA, NV, WV, and MT plus Puerto Rico. Program graduates are not automatically eligible in CA and NY and need additional training and coursework evaluation by the appropriate state board. Graduates are able to seek employment in the forty states that have no license requirement.
