What You Can Expect from AHU’s MS in Spiritual Care
The MSSC offers an alternative pathway for those called to specialized pastoral ministry in chaplaincy who do not want to pursue a Master of Divinity. This degree is also a fit for current clinicians seeking continued education in ethics and spiritual care. Consisting of 72 credit hours, the degree program can be completed in under three years, offering graduates an accelerated completion compared to the traditional education path for chaplaincy.
The MSSC is a unique chaplaincy degree directly connected to a major healthcare company with a focus on integrating spiritual care and education with excellence in healthcare. AdventHealth is an organization founded in 1908 and has been providing faith-based, whole person care to the communities they serve. AdventHealth has grown to around 80 hospitals in 9 states and the 80,000 employees share a common mission of “Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ”.
Completion of the MSSC prepares graduates to become a Board Certified Chaplain, such as through the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC), prepared to professionally serve in a wide range of specialized ministry contexts.
