AHU Online Programs Offer Value

At AHU Online, you get more than just a college degree – you get a support system for your life and career.  Our student-centered model of education provides academic, professional, financial, emotional, and spiritual resources, all designed for your success.

AHU Online offers the same rate to all students, no matter where they live. In contrast, many public universities offer one tuition rate for students who live in-state and another, much higher rate, for out-of-state students. Since our courses are 100% online and don’t require any residency or trips to campus, they offer even more value. You don’t have to worry about the cost of traveling to and from campus or the cost of accommodations or room and board.

Our online programs also offer flexibility that you won’t find with traditional, campus-based degree programs. On a daily basis, you make the coursework fit your own schedule of career and family obligations. If you need to pause or sit out for one or two trimesters, you may do so without having to re-apply. Our programs don’t have a minimum number of credit hours required each term, so you can work on your degree as your schedule and budget allows.

Financial Aid Options

AHU online offers a range of financial aid options for eligible students, which can help reduce the cost of your degree.

To qualify for financial aid, you need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as well as AHU’s Financial Aid application.

The types of financial aid available vary based on your financial status and your degree status. Common types of aid include:

Federal Grants

Federal grants such as the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant and the Pell Grant are available to undergraduate students who haven’t completed a bachelor’s degree yet and who demonstrate significant financial need.

Federal Grants

State Grants

Florida has several grant programs for residents of the state (who need to live in Florida for at least 12 months before applying) who demonstrate financial need and who are pursuing an undergraduate degree.

Scholarships

AHU offers several scholarships to students based on either financial need or academic merit. Eligibility requirements vary by award.

Federal and Private Student Loans

Some students apply for federal student loans or loans from private institutions to help cover the cost of attendance. Loan limits and eligibility requirements are based on the type of degree you are pursuing and whether or not you are working with a federal student loan provider or a private bank. Keep in mind that you do need to repay any loans you take out after you complete or leave your degree program.

Tuition Reimbursement

Applicants who work in the Florida Hospital System can use employer reimbursement to pay for their degree.  To reach the education assistance team, call 407-303-3452 or email them at FH.Tuition.Reimbursement@ahss.org. Your director will need to approve you for reimbursement. After you’ve received approval, the education assistance team will work with AHU Online to help manage the reimbursement while you earn your degree.

If you work at another healthcare institution, please contact your employer to see if it offers tuition reimbursement and to learn more about the process. You can also reach out to an Admission Coordinator at AHU, who can answer any questions you might have about getting reimbursed by your employer.
